
Gandaki
Higher Secondary Boarding School,
located in the central part of Nepal on the outskirts of Pokhara
city, was established on 11th June, 1966 in an agreement with
the Government of Nepal and the United Mission to Nepal (UMN)
with a view to imparting a quality education of an international
standard. Presently, it caters for over 950 students, who represent
a wide spectrum of the Nepalese communities from most parts of
the country. Classes are run from year 4 to year 12, and about
80% of the total students are boarders. Students benefit from
an all-round education with regular extra-curricular activities.In
order to meet the needs of the technical education in the western
Nepal, Gandaki
College of Engineering and Science (GCES),an extension
of the school has been recently
opened on the school premises. The
college, with the affiliation of Pokhara University, offers Bachelor's
Degree in Computer Engineering (software).The school is an autonomous
body, which functions under the direction of the Management Committee
headed by the Regional Education Director, Western Development
Region.
